From a small boy keeping time by slapping out hand bone while his uncles picked flattops on the front porch, Keith Burns has always had his eyes on the stars. As soon as Keith graduated from Jonesboro High School he started playing the honky tonks around Atlanta where he ended up fronting the house band at Copper Dollar Saloon where his band Midnight Rider caught the eye of rising country star Joe Diffie. When Joe asked the band to go on the road with him Keith packed his guitars and moved to Nashville. As founding member of the group Trick Pony, Keith along with partners Heidi Newfield and Ira Dean rode their way to 3 top 10 singles in a row. Pour Me and Just What I do were co-written by Keith and the later was nominated for a Grammy for Top Vocal Performance by a Country Group.
